Veterinarian
Dr. Jamie Gerlach offers veterinary care to pets in Blue Springs and surrounding Kansas City areas.
Dr. Gerlach grew up in Massachusetts and attended college for her undergraduate studies in Wilmington, North Carolina. She graduated with her B.S. in Marine Biology from the University of North Carolina in 2013. She was accepted into veterinary school and obtained her Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018.
After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Gerlach continued her training by completing an intensive one year rotating internship at Florida Veterinary Referral Center in Estero, Florida. Following her small animal internship she worked for another year as an intern at The Aquarium of the Pacific and Marine Mammal Care Center in California. She also worked for a year as an associate veterinarian for the Texas State Aquarium in Chorpus Christie, Texas.
In November, 2022 Dr Gerlach accepted a position as an associate veterinarian at the Kansas City Zoo in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Gerlach currently spends time working at both the Kansas City Zoo and at Blue Springs Animal Hospital & Pet Resort.
When she is not working, Dr. Gerlach enjoys traveling and backpacking and has visited over 30 countries. Dr. Gerlach also enjoys concerts and sports and is a Boston fan (sorry!). She has 3 cats named Mahnamana, Hairy Pawter, and Purrmione Grranger.
